105 Nelson Street
Polished up a Rough Gem
This house was partially demolished and full of junk when we purchased it. We needed eight 40-yard bins just to clean it all out. But we knew the house had good bones, and again, it was in a fabulous neighbourhood. We also knew the family who once owned it, so we were tasked to bring it back to life again.
We removed a few of the small partition walls to create an open Kitchen/Dining/Living Space. Managed to make space for a main floor laundry. Created a principal bedroom ensuite bath, and a powder room for guests. Replaced the stairway walls with railings to open and brighten the entry to the basement. Once all the debris was removed, the basement was a blank canvas, so we created a couple bedrooms with larger window wells, and a large entertainment space with wet bar and a 3 piece bath.
The backyard was completely overgrown and full of dead trees and debris. The retaining wall between the neighbours property was falling over. Once it was all cleared out, we built a new retaining wall, a 2 car garage, and a sunroom addition with heated floors. Interlock brick on the back patio and driveway. A privacy fence between the neighbours was also added. Landscaped the front walk way with interlock and planting areas against the house for added interest.
