2 Brookdale Drive

The location and style of this classic 1958 Bungalow drew us in. Our goal was to preserve some of the Mid Century charm, but add a modern layout with warm finishes. On the exterior we reconfigured the front roofline while working with the off-center chimney, enlarged the front door, added all new doors & windows. A backyard family oasis was created by adding a large entertainment size deck off the kitchen, landscaping with a pool, hot tub & Cabana.

Older homes have low ceilings and choppy layouts, so by removing some walls and adding hidden ceiling beams, relocating the stairs and incorporating more glass, we were able to dramatically open up the space. This allowed us to include dining, living, kitchen and even a pantry.

A previous addition off the back was re-worked to create a principal bedroom overlooking the backyard, with walk-in closet and luxurious ensuite bath.

The basement was large but dark and under-used. The new stairwell opens the space to the main floor, and large floor to ceiling windows let in much needed light. Using the existing space we were able to add two more bedrooms, a full bath, a workout room, mudroom & sauna with shower.
